AI Disclosure
Razen is built on generative AI. This page sets out what that means in practice, in plain English, and how we comply with the EU AI Act and related obligations.
You are talking to an AI
Every voice you hear inside a Razen session — except your own — is generated. Every character is fictional, even when you have given them a real name. At the start of every session, the AI partner explicitly says so, in a sentence that cannot be skipped or customised.
Conversations don't replace real people
Razen is a practice tool. It is not therapy, legal advice, or medical advice. If you are in distress, please contact a real human professional or a crisis line — Samaritans (UK) on 116 123, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (US), or your local befrienders.org line.
Synthetic content labelling
All AI-generated audio from Razen — partner voices, coach voices, and any voice you design in Voice Studio — is watermarked with an inaudible C2PA signature plus container metadata identifying the file as synthetic. Audio downloaded from Razen also carries a short audible announcement at the start.
EU AI Act compliance
- Article 50.1 (AI interaction notice). The partner announces it is an AI at the start of every session.
- Article 50.2 (synthetic-content labelling). All generated audio is watermarked and labelled.
- Article 50.3 (no third-party deepfakes). Razen does not clone real voices at all. Every voice is a synthetic, AI-generated voice, so we never produce a deepfake of you or any other person.
Risk classification
Razen is classified as a limited-risk system under the EU AI Act. We do not make automated decisions about people's access to employment, credit, education, or essential services. We do not perform biometric categorisation of users and do not process any biometric voice data.
Providers and limitations
The models that power Razen can be wrong, miss context, or generate plausible but inaccurate content. We have selected providers and tuned prompts to reduce this; we cannot eliminate it. Anything that matters in your real life deserves a real person's judgement.
